Steve Schade, Joan Bierbaum, Hazel Conner and Terry Conner organized this exhibition of the drawings and carvings of Free Acres artist Will Crawford.
It was on display at the Berkeley Heights Library (290 Plainfield Avenue) through July 22nd, 2010.
The exhibition (plus a lot more Will Crawford stuff) was on prominent display at the Centennial Celebration.
What a fantastic celebration of Free Acres!

The library exhibit was enjoyed by staff and patrons alike. One of our most commonly asked reference questions at the library is for information about Free Acres, its residents and history. thanks for sharing your treasures.
ReplyDeleteI wrote an article now nearly 30 years ago, which was published in New Jersey History, which was then the publication of the N.J. Historical Scoiety. The article traces Free Acres' establishment and early history through the early 198o's. The article may be accessed through Free Acres Home Page. It may answer many of the questions that you have.
